1. Introduction

Would you expect to be able to get in a Helicopter and fly it without any training?

So the very first Lesson with Windows 10 is to learn how it works.

For most who are new or even those more than just occasional users the issue is one of being overwhelmed by stuff, much of which isn’t very useful for what they want to do.

You will probably be familiar with your locality and can walk or drive around it confidently, usually without needing a map.

However, in an unfamiliar locality without a map, how do you find anything? Signposts can help but Street Names and House Numbers do not have signposts, and road signs tend to point you to a different locality. So you end up asking people. Like people who are familiar with Windows.

It pays dividends to get accustomed to a few features and functions of Windows.

There is a bit of jargon to get used to, but only for the basic features and functions. It doesn’t take long to become familiar.

So without more ado, the first Lesson is the Desktop, and at the same time the Mouse and Keyboard.
